San Francisco’s vibrant hospitality industry is an invaluable part of our city’s culture, making it a world-class culinary destination and a desirable place to live. After seven months of the COVID-19 pandemic, where does the industry stand now, and where is it going? How can consumers support the restaurant, hotel, and tourism spots that they know and love? Join us for a conversation with industry leaders, moderated by the Golden Gate Restaurant Association’s Executive Director, Laurie Thomas, to hear timely updates and ways everyone can help keep restaurants and hotels an indispensable part of our city by the bay. Panelists include: Andrea Johnston, Chief Operating Officer, OpenTable; Joe D’Alessandro, President & CEO, SF Travel Association; Joaquín Torres, Director, San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development; Rodney Fong, President and CEO, SF Chamber of Commerce; and Kelly Powers, Director, Hotel Council of San Francisco.

Voices of the Kitchen: “Choices” Fall 2020 Presented by La Cocina
Thursday, October 29th at 5:30pm PT
Voices From the Kitchen shares stories from cooks and kitchens less often heard. Over the last five years, the twice-yearly stage performance featured photography, animation, video, sound, and an interactive food experience for the audience.
In light of COVID-19, this event will be broadcasted for the first time virtually, reaching a national audience and food community. While the event is free, consider supporting La Cocina by purchasing a paid ticket and/or a meal kit from the talented La Cocina chefs, which you can enjoy while watching the show.
Theme: Choices | 2020 has presented us with an almost endless series of choices, while sometimes simultaneously leaving us feeling there are few viable options. This production captures inspiring and personal narratives from 8 storytellers and 2 film shorts that speak to this unique time.
